There is a special time each fall that is held near and dear to the hearts of each Theta. This is the weekend where their dads come to visit. After being away from home for a little over two months nothing is more refreshing than getting to see your dad. This year Dad’s Weekend was held from November 7-8th. Upon arrival to campus the dads were met with a warm welcome and many events planned for the weekend. The first was a football viewing party at Brickhouse BBQ. Here, Thetas and their dads got to enjoy cheering on the Badgers while surrounded by good food and even better company. It wouldn’t be a Badger game day without a sea of red apparel and cheese served in multiple forms. Adorned in their Badger gear, the dads and daughters took to Brickhouse BBQ to enjoy a win on the road.

Later that same day, the Comedy Club put on a private show just for the dads and daughters. The show was full of engaging anecdotes and audience participation. No one was left out as many dads and daughters were the subject of jokes, all in good fun. The private show spanned about an hour and was a crowd favorite amongst the fathers and daughters. That concluded the planned events of Saturday, but many dad and daughter pairs decided to go out to dinner with other Thetas. The day and night were full of bonding with sisters and dads alike. It was a great time for the dads to experience their daughters’ lives on campus and as members of Psi chapter. Walking from Brickhouse to the Comedy Club allowed for a beautiful view of the Capitol. Being Badgers, there are few things we love more than our gorgeous campus. Getting to share that with our fathers means even more. After lots of food and fun the dads said goodnight, but not goodbye. There was still one more event to enjoy before the weekend was over.

The following day there was a brunch to end the weekend held at the Theta house. Chef David and the Evan’s Scholars served a delicious meal to conclude the weekend. During this time many Thetas showed their fathers their beloved house on the lake. With stories of 108 Langdon and of sisterhood being shared, it’s safe to say the fathers were proud to have Theta daughters. The weekend was a success full of plenty of quality father/daughter time. Katie Jennings, our social chair, did an amazing job planning a weekend consisting of many activities that allowed for many memories to be made. We look forward to welcoming our dads to campus all school year. Whether this was your first Dad’s Weekend as a Theta or your last, it was full of excitement and special moments.
